Awesome Africa

Vega School of Advertising gave us a project in my last year on Awesome Africa. We were tasked with how we could get the younger generation to attend Awesome Africa Music Festival.

My solution was to bring in South African headliners that the youth would not want to miss out on and give the festival a modern and youthful look. The target market for this campaign were people that range from the age of 18- 30, that enjoy current music and supporting local artists.

Famous South African artists according to Paul Brothner music (2019) the top SAMA winners That awesome Africa should collaborate with would be “Cassper Nyovest, Black coffee, Nasty C, Sho Madjozi" with supporting acts like Jeremy Loops, Kyle Watson, Chunda Monkey and more. The headline artists won awards and are sure to get people to go crazy about attending Awesome Africa 2019.

We would get the word out there by creating posters near universities and major malls like Gateway, Galleria and Midlands liberty Mall. In order to get people excited all over South Africa, Awesome Africa would launch a social media campaign that consists of a video overview, facebook event and social media posts. A competition will be in place that gets facebook and Instagram users to share the music festival post and a random person will get chosen to win tickets for two. creating even more "hype".

I did a video that would be released on social media platforms. This is what the potential video would look like. Please note the music and footage do not belong to me. but the make up of the video was done by me.
